Good nutrition and early childhood

Many studies have shown that nutrition significantly affects how children think and behave and their overall health, which, in turn, affects their academic performance. For example, diets high in trans and saturated fats can negatively impact learning and memory, leading to forgetfulness and poor retention. However, when a child is exposed to good nutrition early, it improves his concentration and critical thinking skills, behaviour and academic performance.

Good nutrition is important for building and maintaining a strong immune system. In today’s world, a child who is fed with the right diet has a better chance of preventing or fighting off recurring infections that can impede growth and development.
